Like a free bird

By Jules Fred C. Batisla-ong

Been contained and isolated
Never saw the lights of heaven that faded
Years of itching complications
Longing for true and honest affections

Don’t tempt me to do some stupidity
I wanted to be free like a bird so let it be
Its time to face this world on my own
Let me taste the sweet freedom all alone

Free as a bird flying in the wilderness
Enough of the circus love affair madness
Give my heart a rest from breaking
I want to see myself in the mirror smiling

Like a free bird way up high
Spreading my wings in these blue skies
So don’t dare to caught me
For I wanted to get out to be happy
